Simplicity Vintage Dress S9849

Buy the S9849 Vintage 1950's Dress sewing pattern from Simplicity. It’s perfect for an advanced beginner/intermediate dressmaker. Vintage Simplicity 1950s dress sewing pattern. Empire-line dress has short kimono sleeves and neck band to which upper edge of bodice front is softly pleated. Pleated section crosses right over left at neck edge. Dress has back neck zipper opening. View 1 has flared skirt; View 2 has sheath skirt with back pleat. Both skirts are fitted with waistline-darts and shaped to a point in front; cut straight in back at upper edge.

Suggested fabrics: Broadcloth, chambray, cottons, cotton blends, linen, pique, rayons, shantung, silk, synthetics, taffeta. View 1 also in peau de soie, satin. View 2 also in crepe, jersey, wools. Interfacing: lightweight Sew-in. (optional).

Note: Extra fabric maybe needed to match plaids, stripes, one-way design fabrics or shrinkage.

Sizing: H5 (6-8-10-12-14) U5 (16-18-20-22-24), which is approx. UK sizes H5 (4/6 – 10), U5 (12– 20/22) based on our standardised size chart. Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread. Views 1,2: One 7" (18cm) zipper, one 14" (36cm) zipper (for side opening), bias seam binding (optional), pair of round shoulder pads (optional).
