Buy the Farley Shacket sewing pattern from Sew Over It. The perfect combination of a shirt and a jacket, the Farley Shacket is a great transitional layering piece. The design is slightly oversized and features buttons down the front and on the cuffs, a classic collar with a half-moon collar stand, and a panelled body. Clever double-entry pockets are built into the front seams: keep your hands warm on the outside and your belongings safe on the inside.
Version 1 is hip-length and will work in most woven fabrics, from a classic shirting to needlecord or flannel, as well as heavier fabrics. Version 2 is cropped and will work best in a more structured denim or canvas to hold its shape.

Suggested fabrics: The Farley Shacket can be made in a range of fabrics that will alter the way it looks. Try a more structured fabric such as a canvas, heavier denim or corduroy for the shorter Version 2. Or use the longer length of Version 1 to show off a lighter chambray, needlecord or stretch cotton.
