Suggested fabrics: This pattern works best with lighter woven fabrics like voile, lawn, and double/single gauze. Those that know their machine shirrs well can use light-medium weight woven fabrics (up to 5 oz.) such as quilting cotton and washed linen. Don't use anything heavier or the shirring won’t scrunch up enough for a good fit.

Fabric requirements: 

Lengths 1 and 2: 45" (114 cm) wide fabric: 1.5 - 3 yd (1.4 - 2.8 m) // 60" (152 cm) wide fabric: 1 - 3 yd (1 - 2.8 m).

Length 3: 45" (114 cm) wide fabric: 1 - 2 yd (1 - 1.9 m) // 60" (152 cm) wide fabric: 0.75 - 2 yd (0.7 - 1.9 m).

Note that when sewing Length 2 in size 8-10 years you will need a fabric that is at least 46" (117 cm) wide.

Sizing: 0-3 months up to 10 years. Please check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Elastic thread; 1 yd/m of 1/4" (6 mm) wide elastic; two safety pins.
