Noodlehead Maker's Tote

Buy the Maker's Tote sewing pattern from Noodlehead. This carry-all tote is a modern spin on the classic doctor’s bag, designed with handy on-the-go storage in mind. Perfect for kids and adults alike, it will keep whatever you need close at hand and organised. The Maker's Tote features a secure top zipper closure (optional), zippered back pocket, and many interior (gusseted and slip) pockets. The pattern includes two sizes. Note this is an intermediate level bag pattern.

NOTE: No printed pattern pieces are included. Rotary cutting instructions/measurements are provided instead (just cut and sew, no pattern pieces needed).

Suggested fabrics: Cotton canvas, cotton/linen canvas, denim, twill, home dec or quilting cotton for exterior. Quilting cotton for lining and pockets.

Large: 44″ (112 cm) wide fabric: Exterior fabric, 5/8 yd (0.6 m) // Lining fabric, 1 1/4 yd (1.2 m) // Pocket fabric, 1 1/4 yd (1.2 m) // Accent fabric (includes binding and handles), 1/2 yd (0.5 m).

Small: 44″ (112 cm) wide fabric: Exterior fabric, 1/2 yd (0.5 m) // Lining fabric, 1 yd (0.9 m) // Pocket fabric, 1 yd (0.9 m) // Accent fabric (includes binding and handles), 1/2 yd (0.5 m).

Sizing: 

Large: Finished dimensions: 16" W x 13" H x 7 1/2" D.

Small: Finished dimensions: 12" W x 10" H x 6" D.

Notions: 1 1/2 yd of fusible woven interfacing (20" wide); 1 yd of fusible mid-weight interfacing (44" wide); 1/2 yd of ByAnnie’s Soft and Stable (or 1 yd of 20" wide FlexFoam); separating 'jacket' zipper, 18" for large or 14" for small (or can substitute 2-3 additional size 24 metal snap sets); non-separating zipper for tote back, 10" for large or 7” for small; two 1/4" x 5" strips of leather/ribbon for zipper pulls; one size 24 pronged metal snap set and snap setting tool; binder clips; washable fabric glue stick; 25 mm bias tape maker; 1/4" wide fusible web tape; card stock or template plastic.
