A galaxy wrap dress

My newest wrap dress is this jersey wrap dress from McCall’s. I used a lovely stable sparkly cotton jersey which works really well with this pattern.
Generally I’m pleased with it- the pattern is really nice and the instructions were good. It included some extra tips- in particular I did as advised and used knit interfacing along the neckline and hem and think this made a big difference to the finished dress- no wavy seams in sight. I actually feel I sewed it well- nothing is stretched and the binding and hems lie straight. I wore the dress for a busy on call and the wrap didn’t gape or budge it didn’t budge plus it was super comfortable!

I did however have some fitting issues. This pattern includes a lot of ease- particularly for a jersey dress. I sewed the 8 (smallest size) and tried to take out as much as I could from the centre back/ side seams and along the neckline. However it’s still a bit big around the bust (I’m a 31” bust for reference). Initially I wasn’t sure whether I’d make it again but actually I really like this dress and it’s had quite a few positive comments so I probably will!!
