Buy the Emerald Dress and Top sewing pattern from Made by Rae. Emerald is a simple bias-cut shift dress or top composed of four main panels and finished with facings, which highlight the elegant V-shaped neckline and curved hem. The dress view includes pockets and an optional sash. Wear Emerald with sandals and a hat on hot days, or layered under a warm sweater or cowl as the the seasons change and the days turn cool.

Suggested fabrics: Light- to medium-weight woven fabric with drape, such as linen and linen blends, loose-weave cotton, rayon challis and other rayon/viscose blends, silk noil, tencel twill, and double gauze.

Fabric requirements: Yardage estimates are intentionally generous to allow for space between pattern pieces and for fabric shrinkage. Extra fabric may be required for directional prints, nap, border prints, or design matching.

44″ (1.1 m) wide fabric: Top, 1.5 - 2.75 yd (1.3 - 2.4 m) // Dress, 3 - 5 yd (2.6 - 4.5 m).

54″ (1.4 m) wide fabric: Top, 1.25 - 2 yd (1.1 - 1.9 m) // Dress, 2.5 - 4 yd (2.3 - 3.6 m).

For optional sash, add 0.5 yd/m additional fabric, except plus sizes 1-5 using 44" (1.1 m) wide fabric, add 0.75 yd (0.7 m).

Sizing: XXS – XL and plus sizes 1 – 5 (approx. UK 6/8 – 30/32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 0.5 yd/m of 44" (1.1 m) wide lightweight fusible interfacing.
