Just what I was looking for!

This was the first coat I have ever attempted. I was after a long coat with nice big sleeves so that I could wear a jumper underneath.

The pattern itself is relatively easy to follow with a moderate level of sewing knowledge and all the pieces seemed to fit together as they should. The fabric I chose was a thick wool mix Boucle which I found tricky to manage at a few of the points around the collar and it sags a little at the front although I think this is the fabric rather than the pattern. Overall though, it turned out much better than I had anticipated. The sleeves are lovely and big, and have enough space for a thick winter jumper underneath. The length is so great and means you feel very warm and cosy.

The only thing I would say is that it's not that wide across the back and I think it could benefit from flaring out just a little to give a bit more fabric to wrap around legs when you're sat down. I also think that the belt loops in the front could do with moving further round to the side as they require a bit of shuffling to get the belt tight.
