An optional neckerchief runs through loops on the collar stand and can be worn in a bunch of different ways. The shirt also features bust darts, a back pleat, and cute chest patch pocket. Suggested fabrics: The Butano Button Up is designed for woven fabrics. Any sort of light to medium weight woven is suitable. If you choose a fabric like a mid-weight twill or denim, you will get a more structured top. If you choose a drapier fabric like a rayon challis or silk, you will get a blousier top.

Fabric requirements: You may need to purchase extra yardage if your fabric has a heavy nap, is directional, striped, or has an obvious repeat.

Perfect balance of fitted and baggy

Sometimes you want an oversized shirt, sometimes you want a fitted one, and sometimes you’re just a really awkward human and want that sweet spot in the middle. That’s exactly what this shirt is. It’s for oversized comfortable design elements, but it fits really well and hangs off the body beautifully. I spent ages looking for the perfect shirt, I’ve sewn loads but they’ve always been missing something. This is the perfect shirt and I will gladly be returning to this pattern for all my future shirts.
