Fibre Mood Mildred Dress

Buy the Mildred Dress sewing pattern from Fibre Mood. In collaboration with MoMu, the Antwerp fashion museum, Fibre Mood has translated a 1920s evening dress from their study collection into a contemporary and accessible pattern that radiates the look and spirit of the original.

Mildred is a sleeveless, asymmetrical dress with a straight cut, bust darts, and bias cut insert. It has a V-neck at the front and back. The dress is lined and has no fastening.

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces have been split (to fit on the A0 sheets) and will need to be joined together.

Suggested fabrics: Choose a fabric that drapes well. Think satin, crepe, viscose twill, or soft wool for an elegant look. For something more festive, opt for a sequin fabric, jacquard, or subtle metallic weave. Use a light, smooth lining, such as viscose, acetate, or cupro, so the dress glides comfortably over the body.

Fabric requirements: 

Main: 110 cm wide fabric (sizes 4-14 only): 245 - 285 cm // 140 cm wide fabric: 205 - 300 cm.

Lining: 110 cm wide fabric (sizes 4-14 only): 230 - 235 cm // 140 cm wide fabric: 115 - 250 cm.

Sizing: EU 32 – 60 / US 0 – 28 / UK 4 – 32 (approx. UK 6 – 28/30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and pattern measurements.

Notions: Scrap of iron-on interfacing; stay tape, max. 130 cm.
