Fibre Mood Lucy Jacket

Buy the Lucy Jacket sewing pattern from Fibre Mood. The Lucy Jacket was inspired by a 1930s jacket in the MoMu (Antwerp fashion museum) study collection. The original was likely part of an evening ensemble worn over a floor-length gown to accentuate the shoulders and the figure-hugging, vertical silhouette of the dress. Alternatively, it may have been a boudoir jacket worn in the privacy of the home.

The Lucy Jacket is Fibre Mood’s reimagination of this piece. It retains many of the original elements: the geometric form, V-shaped neckline, and slight shaping of the cuff. Options are included for lining and pockets.

Suggested fabrics: Depending on the look you're going for, you could make Lucy in a variety of fabrics. A warm jacket? Make Lucy in a padded or quilted fabric. A comfy housecoat? Go for a knit such as interlock. A blouse? Cut Lucy from a woven fabric such as viscose crepe, lyocell, silk satin, or jacquard. Woollen fabric will guarantee you an impeccably stylish jacket. Plus, (fine wale) corduroy, denim, suede, and leather(ette) are all options that will put a different spin on your look.

Fabric requirements: 

Main: 110 cm wide fabric: 265 - 330 cm // 140 cm wide fabric: 170 - 230 cm.

Lining: 110 cm wide fabric: 135 - 215 cm // 140 cm wide fabric: 105 - 150 cm.

Sizing: XS – XXL (approx. UK 6 – 24/26, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and pattern measurements.

Notions: Iron-on interfacing, max. 100 cm (optional); three 2.5 cm snap fasteners.
