Elbe Textiles Somerfield Coat

Buy the Somerfield Coat sewing pattern from Elbe Textiles. The Somerfield Coat is a mix between a robe and a housecoat. Designed to be thrown over your outfit for a bit of extra coverage and style. It has a relaxed fit and a deep V-front with ties. It features hem facings with mitred corners and splits on both sides. View A has 7/8 length sleeves with a large hem turn up, while View B has mid length flared sleeves with a rolled hem.

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces are divided across two A0 sheets. The sheets will need to be joined with no overlap.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics with good drape. Silk crepe de chine, washed linen, soft cotton, soft hemp blends, lyocell. Stiff fabrics are not recommended.

Fabric requirements: If you're using a patterned fabric with a repeat you'd like to match, you may need more fabric.

110 cm (45") wide fabric: 300 - 330 cm (3.2 - 3.6 yd).

150 cm (60") wide fabric: 230 - 300 cm (2.5 - 3.2 yd).

110 cm (45") wide fabric: 290 - 330 cm (3.1 - 3.6 yd).

150 cm (60") wide fabric: 270 - 300 cm (2.9 - 3.2 yd).

Sizing: A – N (approx. UK 6 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern has been drafted for a height of 5'7" and a B cup.      

Notions: Optional: lightweight interfacing for less structured fabrics (to apply on the facings).
