Buy the Polly Blouse and Dress sewing pattern from Daisy Chain Patterns. Polly is that charming children's top or dress you wish came in your size! The pattern includes a buffet of options: a square neck or round neck with buttons; three puff sleeve lengths with finishing options; a gathered peplum, mini skirt, or duster length skirt; and collar and ruffle add-ons. Note: Pieces are not provided for the skirts and ruffles. You cut these pieces (all rectangles) directly from your fabric using dimensions provided in the instructions.

Suggested fabrics: Due to the gathering and ruffles, the designer recommends a lightweight non-stretch woven fabric with a crisp body. Fabrics such as cotton lawn or poplin or lightweight linen will work best to achieve the desired volume. If you choose to use a fabric with more drape, such as a rayon, the design will hang closer to the body resulting in a slightly different silhouette.

Fabric requirements: Fabric amounts account for all sleeve lengths. If you plan to add any bonus ruffles, purchase an extra 5/8 yd (0.6 m). Additional fabric may be required for print matching. 

Blouse: 44" (111 cm) wide fabric (sizes 0-34 only): 2.5 - 4.6 yd (2.3 - 4.3 m) // 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 2.5 - 4.6 yd (2.3 - 4.3 m).

Mini Dress: 44" (111 cm) wide fabric (sizes 0-34 only): 3.2 - 6.0 yd (3.0 - 5.5 m) // 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 3.2 - 6.3 yd (3.0 - 5.8 m).

Duster: 44" (111 cm) wide fabric (sizes 0-34 only): 4.2 - 7.8 yd (3.9 - 7.2 m) // 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 4.2 - 8.2 yd (3.9 - 7.4 m).

Lining (all views): 44" (111 cm) wide fabric: 0.3 - 1.0 yd (0.3 - 0.9 m) // 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 0.3 - 1.0 yd (0.3 - 0.9 m).

Sizing: 0 – 38 (approx. UK 6 – 38, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 1 yd (0.9 m) of 1/4" (6 mm) or 3/8" (10 mm) elastic // Round neck and button closure: 1/2 yd (0.5 m) of lightweight fusible woven interfacing or one roll of 1" (2.5 cm) wide lightweight fusible interfacing; three to twelve 3/8" (10 mm) shirt buttons.
