Buy the Fiore Skirt sewing pattern from Closet Core Patterns. Part of the Rome Collection, the Fiore Skirt is a chic, high-waisted A-line skirt with just the right amount of flare and volume. A beginner friendly pattern with multiple variations, this elevated basic has tons of outfit potential.
Available in above or below the knee lengths, the Fiore Skirt has three views. View A is a simple flared skirt with an invisible zipper at the back. View B is an asymmetrical wrap skirt with single hip pocket. View C buttons up the front and has curved patch pockets.
This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following format:

Suggested fabrics: All views can be made with crisp wovens such as linen, chambray, denim, twill, poplin, lightweight canvas, and structured cottons. Please note: Views A and B can also be made with drapier fabrics like rayon challis, tencel, or silk, but the patch pocket for View C should not be sewn with fluid fabrics.
Fabric requirements: Fabric requirements are for below knee length skirt. If sewing above knee length skirt, subtract 0.25 yd (0.2 m). Add extra yardage for directional prints and plaids.
View A: 45" (1.15 m) wide fabric: 1.75 - 2.25 yd (1.6 - 2 m) // 58" (1.5 m) wide fabric: 1.5 yd (1.4 m).
View B: 45" (1.15 m) wide fabric: 2.25 - 2.75 yd (2 - 2.5 m) // 58" (1.5 m) wide fabric: 1.75 - 2 yd (1.6 - 1.85 m).
View C: 45" (1.15 m) wide fabric: 2 yd (1.85 m) // 58" (1.5 m) wide fabric: 1.5 - 1.75 yd (1.4 - 1.6 m).
Sizing: 0 – 20 (approx. UK 6 – 20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: 1.25 yd (1.1 m) of lightweight non-stretch fusible interfacing // View A: 7" (18 cm) invisible zipper // View B: two 1/2"-3/4" (13-19 mm) buttons; scrap of 1/4" (6 mm) twill tape or ribbon for loop closure (optional) // View C: six to eight 1/2" (13 mm) buttons // Views B and C: Fray Stop and buttonhole chisel or seam ripper to open buttonholes.

I've made the wrap version twice and i strongly recommend cutting the front edge facing on the straight grain to support the diagonal grain of the skirt overlay. Stay stitching can only do so much!
On the second skirt i also changed the pocket to the right side so i had it on my dominant side.
I love wearing this pattern, i think it stays closed pretty well, both walking and sitting, and i love the style lines of the wrap.

The first time I used this pattern, I made the wrap skirt version, using a cotton seersucker. The pattern was relatively simple (except the pocket construction does get a bit bamboozling at some points), but I don't love it. The skirt flies open at my thigh, which I don't love, and I haven't worn the skirt since making it months ago, which is to me usually the sign of an unsuccessful project.
The simplest version, though, I love. It is flattering in all the right places and I thought an A-line skirt is just an A-line skirt until I tried this pattern. There is one thing I found highly problematic, and that is that it calls for a 7" zipper, and with a 7" zipper I was not able to get it on (not even over my head, where the biggest measurement is my 36" bust) - I believe I made a size 10 - I'm big in the hips - 41" to a 30" waist, and I cannot understand how anyone would be able to get the skirt on when the zipper opens only 6". I ended up cutting it out and putting in a 10" zipper, because the skirt looked so beautiful it would've been heartbreaking not to wear it. A lot of Instagrammers seem to have made the wrap skirt, so I haven't seen this issue come up with anyone else. If you're a woman with hips, beware the 7" zipper on the zippered version!
Otherwise, a beautifully drafted pattern.

It was love at first sight with this pattern. I simply fell in love the those elegant lines, and with 3 options this skirt is a bargain! This is view B which is the wrap skirt!
Fit :
The waist is fitted so I according to the measurements it landed me between 8/10 and I opted to just cut a straight 10. My only issue by going a bit bigger was the extra fabric on the hips. My pocket wrinkles a bit due to that extra fabric. Simple solutions for the next one, is to simply grade the hips down.
Construction:
My only tip would be to make sure you follow the marking on the pocket bag. The pocket is attached at an angle so if you're not careful you'll end up with an either too small or too large pocket. Besides that, the rest of the construction is a breeze. Perfect day project, and with only 2 button holes for the win!!
