Buy the Elodie Wrap Dress sewing pattern from Closet Core Patterns. Elodie is a modern take on a classic wrap dress. Romantic and flowy with multiple skirt and sleeve options, it’s equally appropriate at a park picnic or a special wedding.
Elodie features a softly flowing bodice, with release pleats under the bust and a dolman style sleeve. Choose between a short sleeve or a longer, more formal option that ends at the elbow. The skirt is swishy and voluminous and comes in three lengths, above the knee, midi or maxi, with optional patch pockets.

Suggested fabrics: Elodie can be made in a wide variety of fabrics. Light to medium weight wovens like linen, cotton poplin, batiste, voile and chambray will have a more casual feel. Choose a drapey woven like silk, viscose, tencel or rayon challis for a more elegant or fluid effect.

Sizing: 0 – 20 (approx. UK 6 – 20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
This size range is based on a B cup bust and an average height of 5’6″. Please note that B cup does not refer to bra sizing, but rather to the difference in inches between high and full bust. A 2″ difference between those measurements is equivalent to a B cup.
Notions: Lightweight fusible interfacing; point turner.

I’ve wanted to make a wrap dress in woven fabric for some time and I’ve been deliberating between an Elodie and a Cashmerette Roseclair. I almost went with a Roseclair because of the cup size options but, after scooting around the internet and reading some reviews I decided on the Elodie.
This dress has come together SO beautifully and the fit is incredible! I don’t think I’ve ever had a pattern fit and flatter SO well without any adjustments needed, particularly over the bust area. The wrap section is the work of a genius!

The Elodie Wrap is such a pretty style. I chose the wide robe sleeve option. I picked my size based on my waist measurement. My bust size belonged in a smaller size and after a muslin of the bodice and waist parts, I ended up eliminating one front dart (out of three on each front bodice piece) all together. THIS post on Instagram shows you how I did that.
The fabric is a slight textured viscose and works very well for this style.

I used a rather sheer delicate fabric for my Elodie, and did French seams for a beautiful interior finish.
I made the short version with the full sleeves as I like the effect which is lovely and feminine.
Closet core has written a guide for adjustments for the pattern, and instead of doing a true SBA for this pattern, I used the alternate method for a small SBA which worked wonderfully.
Because the fabric is so light and it is, indeed, a true wrap dress, the skirt tends to blow away so I'm glad I made a slip to go under!

Love, love, love this!!
This is the Closet Core Elodie wrap dress made for my holiday.
I made the midi length. I'm 5 ft3.
I made a size 10 but graded to a 12 at the waist and back in to a 10 at the hip.
I was pushed for time, so I didn't bother with a toile and my linen like fabric was very cheap.
It fits like a glove and is so comfortable to wear.
The pleats give it more form, providing room for the bust without gapping.
You'll notice I didn't bother with pattern matching! The print was far too big to bother.
I left it hanging on my mannequin for a few days and the side seams in the skirt did indeed drop by a couple of inches, so well worth the wait.
The instructions were a joy to follow.

This is probably the twirliest, girliest pattern I've made and probably the one that makes me feel the prettiest. There's lovely pleating at the bust, no sleeves to set in, and a lovely skirt length (I've made the midi version).
The only thing that I'm not particularly fond of is the opening for the belt hole- I think for next time I will use a regular button hole as I think the finish will be neater. I think for my next one I will also shorten the sleeves as on my frame they are a bit too long.
I definitely think a beginner can tackle this pattern (if I can do it, you for sure can). There is also a super in depth material on Youtube from Sewing Therapy that helped me along while sewing.
Out of all my wrap dress patterns this one gapes the least and I had to make no adjustments. For sure a winner in my book.
