Christine Haynes Eaton Dress and Blouse

Buy the Eaton Dress and Blouse sewing pattern from Christine Haynes. Eaton is the perfect structured yet comfortable garment. The forward shoulder seam has gentle gathers that flow into a mid-calf length dress or a blouse that ends above the hip. The fitted neckline features a collar stand, and the dress neckline is topped with a rounded club collar. The blouse has a longer shoulder for a slight cap/sleeveless look that is finished with bias binding, while the dress has long sleeves with plackets and cuffs. The sides are sewn with French seams that end in topstitched vents. The back is gathered into a lined yoke, and there is an optional hang loop at the centre back. 

The only exposed seams on the interior are the armholes on the dress. The rest are fully enclosed. All the elements are also mix and match, so you can add and subtract the sleeves, collar, and collar stand as desired.

Suggested fabrics: Light and medium weight woven fabrics, like cotton lawn, poplin, chambray, linen and cotton blends, cotton shirting, and similar fabrics. Fabrics with drape, like silk, rayon, and cupro, can also be used, though the designer recommends choosing an option that does not have a heavy drape.

Fabric requirements: Fabric requirements assume non-directional fabric. Additional fabric may be required for nap, one-way design, shading, matching design, or shrinkage. The sash belt worn by the model is an optional add-on and is not included in the yardage listed below.

View A: 44" (112 cm) wide fabric: 4 1/4 - 4 3/4 yd (3.9 - 4.3 m) // 58" (147 cm) wide fabric: 4 yd (3.7 m).

View B: 44" (112 cm) wide fabric: 2 3/4 - 3 yd (2.5 - 2.7 m) // 58" (147 cm) wide fabric: 2 1/2 yd (2.3 m).
