Chalk and Notch Noe Tank and Dress

Buy the Noe Tank and Dress sewing pattern from Chalk and Notch. Noe is an A-line tank and dress. View A is a cropped tank, View B is a short mini dress with a hem facing, and View C is a long dress with a ruffle hem. Choose a high or low front neckline. The back has a slight racerback shape with the choice of an open back or a full back. The tank is fully lined, and there are options for a lined bodice or fully lined dress.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics. Choosing a fabric with a nice drape will cause the fabric to lie closer to the body, and a thicker fabric will cause the fabric to stand away from the body and feel more boxy.

Main: Chambray, cotton block prints, cotton lawn, cotton voile, linen, rayon challis, rayon crepe.

Lining: Cotton lawn, cotton voile, rayon bemberg, rayon challis, rayon voile, viscose batiste.

Fabric requirements: Minimum fabric required is listed. If you think you will need more for shrinkage, directional print, pattern matching or print repeat, please purchase accordingly. 

Main: 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: Tank, 1 - 1 1/2 yd (0.9 - 1.4 m) // Short dress, 1 3/4 - 2 3/4 yd (1.6 - 2.5 m) // Long dress, 3 - 5 yd (2.7 - 4.6 m).

Main: 44" (112 cm) wide fabric: Tank, 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 yd (1.1 - 1.4 m) // Short dress, 2 - 2 3/4 yd (1.8 - 2.5 m) // Long dress, 3 1/2 - 5 yd (3.2 - 4.6 m).

Lining: 44" (112 cm) wide fabric: Tank, 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 yd (1.1 - 1.4 m) // Dress bodice, 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 yd (1.1 - 1.4 m) // Full dress, 2 - 2 1/4 yd (1.8 - 2.1 m).

Sizing: US 0 – 30 (approx. UK 8 – 30, based on our standardised size chart) with A/B and C/D bust cup options. Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern includes two bust cup options, and the cup size is determined by calculating the difference between the high and full bust. If the difference between your high bust and full bust is between 0" and 2" (5 cm) use the A/B cup. If the difference is between 2" (5 cm) and 4" (10 cm) use the C/D cup. If you have more than a 4" (10 cm) difference, you may need a full bust adjustment.
