Bella Loves Patterns Aurea Dress

Buy the Aurea Dress sewing pattern from Bella Loves Patterns. Aurea is a sleeveless shirtdress with dropped shoulders and a double-layered back yoke. It features a pointed shirt collar, collar stand, centre front button placket, side bust darts, and front patch pockets with pocket flaps. The armholes are finished with topstitched self bias binding on the inside. Aurea has a midi-length skirt with side pleats at the front and back, in-seam side pockets, side slits, and a curved hem. The waist is cinched in by a tie belt.

Suggested fabrics: Aurea was designed for mid-weight woven fabrics with little to no stretch. Fabrics like linen, cotton shirting, poplin, chambray, Oxford, and sturdy linen/viscose blends. Avoid sewing this pattern with very slippery and shifty fabrics, as sewing the front patch pockets will be more challenging. 

The sample is made in 100% linen.

Fabric requirements: 

Height Group 1: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 2.4 - 2.7 m (2.6 - 2.9 yd).

Height Group 2: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 2.4 - 2.7 m (2.6 - 2.9 yd).

Sizing: UK 6 – 22 (approx. UK 6/8 – 18/20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is drafted to fit a B cup size and has two height options:

Height Group 1: 160 cm (5'3")
Height Group 2: 170 cm (5'7")

Select the closest height to your body. Both groups have the same width around the body – the only difference is in the length. If you are outside these height groups, you may need to alter the pattern length.

Notions: Lightweight woven fusible interfacing; eleven 12 mm (1/2") shirt buttons; bias and straight-edge stay tape, 1-1.2 cm (3/8"-1/2") wide // Optional: small amount of Wonderweb.
