Buy the Teen Girls’ Olympia Sports Top sewing pattern from Waves & Wild. The Olympia Sports Top is a close-fitting top designed for swimming, gymnastics, dance, athletics and more! The pattern includes two cropped styles plus a full length option. Choose between straight straps or a racer back, and a straight or V front. This pattern is best suited to those with some sewing experience. The construction is not complex, but it is a little fiddly and requires accurate topstitching.

Suggested fabrics: 

Main and binding: Light to medium weight knit swim Lycra. Alternatively, you can use cotton/Lycra or athletic jersey provided the fabric contains at least 5% Lycra and has excellent stretch and return. The fabric should have a minimum of 70% horizontal and 50% vertical stretch.

Lining (optional): Power mesh.

Fabric requirements: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: Crop, 30 cm (1/2 yd) // Full length, 50 – 60 cm (5/8 – 3/4 yd).

Sizing: Teen 10 – 20. Please check the size chart. Note the size numbers do not indicate ages.

Notions: 6 mm (1/4″) elastic for the straps; double-sided wash-away tape (optional) // Enclosed elastic band: 25 mm (1″) elastic // Exposed elastic band: 25 – 38 mm (1″ – 1 1/2″) soft/plush elastic. If you are making a swim top, you must use swim elastic.
