Buy the Visby Henley and Top sewing pattern from Itch to Stitch. Wear this long sleeve pullover by itself on a warm day, or as a base layer under a snuggly sweater on a cool night. While the Visby has been designed as a classic henley, you also have options to skip the buttoned placket, add a hood, and add a bottom band. All views have sporty cuffed raglan sleeves.

View A has a partial placket with a button closure and neckband, and a slightly curved hem. View B has a neckband only (no placket) and a slightly curved hem. View C has a partial placket with a button closure and hood, and a bottom band.

Suggested fabrics: Use lightweight four-way stretch knit fabric with at least 50% horizontal stretch and 50% vertical stretch. French terry, cotton lycra jersey and other cotton blend jerseys are good choices. Slightly heavier weight knit can be used in View B, but not in Views A and C because the intersection of the placket and neckband/hood can become too bulky with thicker fabric. You can choose to colour block the top by using different fabric for the front, back, sleeves, cuffs, neckband, hood and placket (use similar knit fabric for all these parts).

Fabric requirements: 54″ (135 cm) wide fabric: Front and back, 7/8 yd (80 cm) // Sleeve, 3/4 yd (70 cm) // For View A, add 3/8 yd (30 cm) // For View B, add 3/8 yd (30 cm) // For View C, add 3/8 yd (30 cm) // Inner hood, 1/2 yd (50 cm) // Outer hood, 1/2 yd (50 cm).

Sizing: US 00 – 20 (approx. UK 8 – 22). Please check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Views A and C only: Very lightweight fusible woven or weft insertion interfacing; four 3/8″ (1 cm) buttons.
