Charlotte Emma Patterns Teres Dress and Top

Buy the Teres Dress and Top sewing pattern from Charlotte Emma Patterns. Teres is a sportswear inspired knit dress and top with a cold shoulders feature. The pattern is designed to be quick to make, without closures, and with a band finish at the neckline, sleeve cuffs and shoulder cut-outs. Teres can be made as a dress or a top, with a funnel or crew neckline, and three-quarter or full-length sleeves.

View A is a dress, fitted at the waist, with a midi-length skirt, ending mid-calf, and three-quarter length sleeves.

View B is a cropped top, with a waistband ending just below the natural waist, perfect for pairing with high waisted trousers or skirts. It has full-length sleeves.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight knit fabrics with 40-60% one-way stretch, such as jersey, cotton interlock, French terry and sweatshirting. A high stretch % is required for the funnel neckline, cuffs, and to achieve the intended relaxed fit. Knits with good recovery are recommended to help the shoulder cut-outs maintain their shape.

Due to the width of the sleeve hem, if using a fabric with less than 60% stretch you will need to gather the sleeve hem into the cuffs using elastic thread or use a rib or cuffing fabric for the cuffs.

Fabric requirements: All fabric requirements are based on one directional cutting.

Sizes 4 – 22 / B cup:

View A Dress: 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 2.8 – 3.3 m (3 – 3 3/4 yd) // 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 1.8 – 2.9 m (2 – 3 1/4 yd).

View B Top: 115 cm (45″) wide fabric: 1.6 – 2 m (1 3/4 – 2 1/4 yd) // 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 1.2 – 1.5 m (1 1/2 – 1 3/4 yd).

Sizing: UK 4 – 36. This pattern includes two size ranges: UK 4 – 22 based on a B cup block (a 2″ difference between your high bust and full bust measurements) and UK 20 – 36 based on a D cup block (a 4″ difference between your high bust and full bust measurements). There is an overlap at sizes 20 – 22 where you can choose which size range you would like to use. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Polyester thread; stretch or ballpoint sewing machine needle // Optional: Ballpoint pins; twin needle for hemming; clear elastic for stabilising shoulder seams; fusible hemming tape // If using a fabric with less than 60% stretch: Rib fabric or cuffing for the sleeve cuffs OR elastic thread.
