Buy the S9882 Vintage 1950’s Skirt and jacket sewing pattern from Simplicity. It’s perfect for an advanced beginner/intermediate dressmaker. Vintage Simplicity 1950s skirt and jacket. View 1 of this ‘Simple to Make’ fitted jacket is styled with three-quarter sleeves cut in one with the bodice. Tabs at the neck and sleeve cuffs button to the jacket. View 2 jacket features a small collar and cuffs. Full skirt is styled with soft pleats and zipper closing at centre back. A contrasting ribbon scarf trims for View 1 jacket.

Suggested fabrics: View 1 and View 2 Jackets: Cotton, Faille, Linen, Rayon, Wool. View 1 and View 2 Skirts: Cotton, Faille, Flannel, Linen, Pique, Rayon, Wool. Lining: Lining Fabric (optional). Interfacing: Medium weight sew-in for washable fabrics, hair canvas sew-in for all other fabrics.

Note: Extra fabric maybe needed to match plaids, stripes, one-way design fabrics or shrinkage.

Sizing: H5 (6-8-10-12-14) U5 (16-18-20-22-24), which is approx. UK sizes H5 (4/6 – 10), U5 (12– 20/22) based on our standardised size chart. Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread. View 1 Jacket: Pair of rounded shoulder pads, nine buttons, 1 1/4 yds. (1.2m) of 7″ (18cm) ribbon for scarf (opt.), purchased belt. View 2 Jacket: Pair of rounded shoulder pads, five buttons, contrast thread. View 1 or 2 Skirt: 7″ (18cm) zipper, seam binding.
