Suggested fabrics:

Primary fabric: Use light to medium weight woven fabric without stretch or with minimal stretch, such as shirting, broadcloth, linen, satin, peach skin and crepe. Note that the wrong side of the fabric could show as you move around in the dress, so keep that in mind when choosing your fabric.

Lining: Washable choices are cotton batiste and cotton lawn. For dry clean garments, use Ambiance lining, polyester lining, china silk or charmeuse. Lining fabric is for pocket bags.

Fabric requirements:

Primary fabric: 54" (135 cm) wide fabric: Dress with short sleeve, 2 1/2 - 3 1/4 yd (230 - 300 cm) // Dress with double petal sleeve, 2 3/4 - 3 1/2 yd (250 - 310 cm) // Dress with butterfly sleeve, 2 5/8 - 3 1/4 yd (240 - 290 cm).

Lining: 44" (115 cm) wide fabric: 3/8 yd (40 cm).

Sizing: US 00 – 20 (approx. UK 8 – 22). Please check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

A note from the designer about bust cup options: To determine your cup size, subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 1" (2.5 cm), use A cup; 2" (5 cm), use B cup; 3" (7.5 cm), use C cup; 4" (10 cm), use D cup; 5" (12.5 cm), use DD cup.

Notions: Lightweight woven or weft insertion interfacing; 22" (56 cm) invisible zipper; hook and eye (size 1); 80" (203 cm) of straight fusible stay tape (or you may cut your own using lightweight woven fusible interfacing on the straight grain); one sew-on snap fastener (optional).

PDF pattern includes: Step-by-step illustrated instructions; US letter/A4 print-at-home pattern (88 pages, but you only need to print the pages for your cup size); A0 copy shop pattern (5 sheets, but you only need to print the sheets for your cup size) // Layers: Yes // Projector file: No.

Petaluma Dress

Petaluma is a faux wrap dress that features three different sleeve options, a unique tulip shaped skirt and an optional tie belt. It has the convenience of a back zip and the bonus of pockets!!!! Sized from 00-20 with cup options from A-DD, this dress is figure flattering for many different body types! The dress sewed up easily and was deceptively quick to sew! I loved this pattern so much that I quickly sewed up a second version! More pictures and details are available on my blog at http://prairie-girl-knits.blogspot.com/2018/09/petaluma-dress.html
