Buy the Petaluma Faux Wrap Dress sewing pattern from Itch to Stitch. Wrap dresses are popular for a reason—this classic style looks great on all body shapes. The Petaluma Faux Wrap Dress gives you the benefit of the wrap shape but with the convenience of a traditional back zipper. The A-line, petal-shaped skirt includes functional in-seam pockets. The Petaluma offers three different sleeve options—choose one or make all three! The pattern also includes options for A, B, C, D and DD cups. The Petaluma will become your go-to dress for years to come.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). Choose A, B and C cup sizes, or D and DD cup sizes. What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: Use light to medium-weight woven fabric without stretch or with minimal stretch, such as shirting, broadcloth, linen, satin, peach skin and crepe. Note that the wrong side of the fabric could show as you move around in the dress; keep that in mind when choosing your fabric. Lining for pocket bags: washable choices are cotton batiste and cotton lawn; for dry-clean garments, use Ambiance lining, polyester lining, china silk or charmeuse.

Fabric requirements: 135 cm (54”) wide fabric: Dress with short sleeve, 2.3 – 3 m (2 1/2 – 3 1/4 yd) / Dress with double petal sleeve, 2.5 – 3.1 m (2 3/4 – 3 1/2 yd) / Dress with butterfly sleeve, 2.4 – 2.9 m (2 5/8 – 3 1/4 yd) // Lining (115 cm (44”) wide): 0.4 m (3/8 yd).

Sizing: US 00 – 20 (approx. UK 8 – 22). Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

A note from the designer about bust cup options: To determine your cup size, subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 1″ (2.5 cm), use A cup; 2″ (5 cm), use B cup; 3″ (7.5 cm), use C cup; 4″ (10 cm), use D cup; 5″ (12.5 cm), use DD cup.

Notions: Lightweight woven or weft-insertion interfacing; 56 cm (22”) invisible zipper; hook and eye (size 1); 203 cm (80”) of straight fusible stay tape (or you may cut your own using lightweight woven fusible interfacing on the straight grain); one sew-on snap fastener (optional).

PDF pattern includes: Digital pattern compatible with both US letter and A4 paper sizes; A0 (copy shop) file; step-by-step illustrated instructions. The print-at-home pattern is a layered PDF, so you can select your size before printing.
