Buy the Helmi Blouse sewing pattern from Forget-me-not Patterns. Helmi is a semi-fitted blouse for lightweight woven fabrics. It features two different collar styles and two optional ruffles so you can choose the vibe! The blouse pulls over the head, so the only opening is at the neckline. The bishop sleeves gather into a binding, and have full-length and three-quarter length options. Side bust darts and back darts give a lightly tailored fit, and three different bust options are included to make fitting easier.

Enjoy sewing Helmi in a cooperative cotton or linen, or challenge yourself with a chiffon. The instructions include a special appendix with extra techniques for sewing sheer fabrics!

Suggested fabrics: Helmi is designed for lightweight non-stretch wovens, such as dotted swiss, cotton crepe, double gauze, viscose, silk crepe, or linen. Sheer and semi-sheer fabrics such as chiffon, georgette, and voile are also suitable.

Fabric requirements: Allow extra fabric if lengthening the garment, or cutting a large scale print.

Sizes 28 – 40: 114 cm (44″) wide fabric: 2.6 m (2.9 yd) // 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: 2.2 m (2.4 yd).

Sizes 42 – 56: 114 cm (44″) wide fabric: 3.6 m (4 yd) // 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: 2.9 m (3.2 yd).

Sizing: 28 – 56 (approx. UK 4 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern comes in three bust sizes. To determine your size, measure your high bust and bust. The bust is measured around the body at the fullest part of the bust. The high bust is measured diagonally up and over the bust (see the diagram in the image gallery).

Use these measurements in conjunction with your known cup size to determine which bust fit to make. If the difference between your high bust and bust is less than 1″ (A to B cup), use Small bust. If the difference is 1″ to 3″ (B to C cup), use Medium bust. If the difference is 3″ plus (D cup plus), use Full bust.

Forget-me-not patterns are designed for a height of 5’6″ (168 cm).

Notions: 0.5 m (0.6 yd) of lightweight woven fusible interfacing (stand collar view) or 0.5 m (0.6 yd) of lightweight soft knit interfacing (peter pan collar view); one 1 cm (3/8”) diameter button (button closure view only); 50 cm (19 3/4”) length of ribbon if finishing the neckline with a tie closure (instructions are also included for a self-fabric tie).
