Buy the Bohème Bra and Chemise sewing pattern from Étoffe Malicieuse. Bohème is a triangle bra, with no hooks and eyes in the back, and with multiple versions. For the back, you can choose classic straps or a triangle, curved, or rectangle back. For the lower part, you can choose a lace band, fabric band, elastic, or a chemise/nightie version (which you can also shorten to make a top!).

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following format:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

Suggested fabrics:

Lace: Stretch lace trim.

Cup lining: You can sew your cups with or without lining. To line your cups, use knit fabric with 40% stretch (two-way stretch) with at least 10% elastane, spandex or lycra. For example, you can use powernet.

Fabric for fabric band version or chemise: Stretch fabrics only. Light lycra, stretch satin or even jersey (be careful not to choose too heavy a fabric). Knit fabric with 40% stretch (two-way stretch) with at least 10% elastane, spandex or lycra.

Fabric requirements:

Lace: 15 cm (5 7/8″) wide lace: Lace band version, 135 – 190 cm (53 1/8″ – 74 3/4″) // All other versions, 85 – 101 cm (33 1/2″ – 39 3/4″). Note these lengths do not take into account the lace pattern. You may need more to cut symmetrical pieces.

Cup lining: 25 cm x 50 cm (9″ x 19 5/8″) is enough for all sizes.

Fabric: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: Fabric band version, 10 cm (3 7/8″) // Chemise/nightie, 65 – 130 cm (25 5/8″ – 51 1/8″).

Sizing: FR 70 – 110 band size with AA – D cups. Please check the designer’s measuring instructions, size charts and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Elastic; 2 sliders and 2 rings; thread; woolly nylon thread (optional but recommended); stretch jersey or ball-point needle.

PDF pattern includes: Step-by-step instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (28 pages, but you will only need to print the pages for your band and cup size). This pattern has layers so you can print just the size(s) you need. Does not include an A0 copy shop file.

NOTE: You can print this pattern with or without seam allowances using the layers function in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
