Vikisews Mirella Dress

Buy the Mirella Dress sewing pattern from Vikisews. Mirella is a close-fitting lined dress with an accentuated waist. The waist seam is curved and sits above the natural waistline. The dress has an extended shoulder line with shoulder pads and long set-in sleeves gathered at the top along the sleeve cap. The bodice features vertical gathers on both the front and back. Mirella has a deep V-neckline decorated with rouleau loops on the right and buttons on the left. The back bodice features a keyhole down to the waistline, which fastens with a rouleau loop and button. A straight-cut skirt features horizontal gathers. The front seam is decorated with rouleau loops and buttons continuing down from the neckline. Mirella fastens with an invisible zipper in the centre seam of the back skirt and is above-knee length.

Suggested fabrics: Natural silk, crepe, artificial silk, crinkle chiffon, crepe de chine, lightweight knits.

For the lining, the designer recommends artificial fibres (viscose), blends (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester), and synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane).

The garment in the photos is made of artificial silk. The fabric is lightweight, soft, non-stretch and with good drape. The fibre content is 100% polyester. The lining is 100% polyester.

Fabric requirements: When purchasing fabric, buy 5% more than required to account for shrinkage.

Main: 140/145 cm (55/57") wide fabric, with a directional print/nap, with the lining: 2.6 - 3.7 m (2 7/8 - 4 yd).

Main: 140/145 cm (55/57") wide fabric, with a directional print/nap, without the lining: 2.05 - 2.45 m (2 1/4 - 2 5/8 yd).

Lining: 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 0.9 - 1.05 m (1 - 1 1/8 yd).

Sizing: 34 – 52 (approx. UK 6 – 20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements. Note the PAPER pattern includes height 2 only (even though additional heights may appear on the charts).
