Buy the Frida Blouse and Dress sewing pattern from Sew Over It. Inspired by the peasant style blouses and dresses worn by Frida Kahlo, this easy to wear blouse and dress is comfy yet sophisticated.
Frida features a front and back yoke, with pleats on both sides of the bodice and a choice of two sleeves: a simple short sleeve for warmer weather, or a long one with fuller gathers at the shoulder and elastic at the wrists, perfect for autumn and spring. The blouse looks great over jeans or smart trousers. The dress can be made in a mini or midi length to wear with sandals in the summer or with tights and boots in the autumn.
Make Frida in cotton for a boxy shape or in drapey fabrics like viscose and Tencel for more movement, especially in the dress version. Use a fun patterned fabric, or use a plain one to highlight the pleat details and add a statement necklace for a smarter look. You can also have fun customising Frida with embroidery, ribbon or piping around the yoke to make your blouse or dress truly unique!
