Buy the Bridgetown Backless Dress and Tunic sewing pattern from Sew House Seven. This versatile pattern is great for fluid knits or woven fabrics with some drape. The open back is stunning for an evening look with a pair of heels, or dress it down with a camisole and a pair of jeans for a more modest look. The simple styling makes it quick and easy to sew. It features a loose fitting bodice, drop shoulder short sleeves, a jewel front neckline that becomes a cross-over draped open back, and an elasticised waist.

Dress A and Tunic B have a bottom band. Dress C and Tunic D have standard turned up hems that are more suitable for knits. The dress hem lands above the knees, and the tunic hem lands at mid-thigh.

Bridgetown Backless Dress & Tunic

To be honest, I already wore this dress once and I am not totally sure about it. The back is way too open for me to feel comfortable. And this is after I already shortened the bodice by 6 cm (a bit less than 2.5 inches). I like how the dress looks from the front and its relaxed style but I don’t think that I will wear it without a strapless top inside.
