Puff and Pencil Boatneck Dress

Buy the Boatneck Dress sewing pattern from Puff and Pencil. The Boatneck Dress is fitted around the upper body with width from the hips down. The dress has front and back panels that provide shape, as well as darts. It features a boat neckline, and an invisible zipper closure at the back. The dress is unlined. The pattern includes both short and long versions.

The Boatneck Dress is sleeveless, but it can be made with any of Puff and Pencil's dress and blouse sleeves (available in Puff and Pencil dress and blouse pattern bundles).

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces are divided across two A0 sheets. The sheets will need to be joined with no overlap.

Suggested fabrics: This pattern is designed for woven fabrics. Choose fabrics with a bit of elastane for greater flexibility. Fabrics such as poplin, woven viscose, and cotton twill all work well.

Fabric requirements:

Short version: 135 cm (53") wide fabric: 130 - 170 cm (1 1/2 - 2 yd) // 145 cm (57") wide fabric: 130 - 160 cm (1 1/2 - 1 3/4 yd).

Long version: 135 cm (53") wide fabric: 215 - 255 cm (2 1/2 - 2 3/4 yd) // 145 cm (57") wide fabric: 215 - 255 cm (2 1/2 - 2 3/4 yd).

Sizing: XXS – XXL (approx. UK 6 – 22/24, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 50 cm (1/2 yd) of interfacing; invisible zipper, 60 cm (23 1/2") for XXS-M or 65 cm (25 1/2") for L-XXL.
