Petits D'om Quileute Sweatshirt or Dress

Buy the Child/Teen Quileute Sweatshirt or Dress sewing pattern from Petits D’om. Quileute is a sweatshirt or sweatshirt dress with a straight cut and dropped shoulders. The sleeves are simple rectangles making them easy to sew. They can be gathered or not and are finished with cuffs in ribbing or jersey. The hem band can be decorated with a faux bow. Optional pockets are integrated into the side seams, and the rounded pocket openings can be finished with a ribbing or jersey band. Quileute can also be sewn as a sleeveless garment, and you can add a hood. With so many options, you can sew nearly fifty different versions!

Note: To save paper, the pattern does not include a piece for the sleeve. This is a simple rectangle, and instructions are provided for drawing the piece directly onto your fabric.

Suggested fabrics: 

Main: Sweatshirt fabric (brushed, fleece, french terry), sherpa knit, woolly fabric, faux fur. The fabric must be fluid and not too thick.

Hood lining: Thin stretch fabric like jersey.

If your main fabric is too thick, cut the pockets from jersey fabric. The pocket backs can be cut from your main fabric or from the same fabric as the pockets and hood lining. For the sleeve cuffs and neckline, it is important to use a fabric with at least 50% stretch: ribbing or jersey with elastane.

Fabric requirements:

Main: 140 cm (58") wide fabric: Sweatshirt, 75 - 150 cm (7/8 - 1 5/8 yd) // Sleeveless sweatshirt, 50 - 120 cm (1/2 - 1 3/8 yd) // Sweatshirt dress, 90 - 190 cm (1 - 2 1/8 yd).

Hood lining and pockets: 140 cm (58") wide fabric: 50 cm (1/2 yd).

Ribbing or jersey (finishing strips): 110 cm (43") wide fabric: 20 - 30 cm (1/4 - 3/8 yd).

Sizing: 2 – 16 years. Please check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
