Petits D’om Baby/Child Bidibou Hat and Mittens

Buy the Baby/Child Bidibou Hat and Mittens sewing pattern from Petits D’om. The cosy hat has ear flaps for warmth and a fabric pompom on top. The mittens have elastic at the wrist and can be joined by a cord or attached to coat sleeves with buttonhole elastic. From birth to 6 months the mittens are thumbless, and from 9 months they have thumbs.

Suggested fabrics: The hat fabrics must be slightly stretchy. The samples have been made with minkee and jersey. You could also use sweat fabric, velvet with a little bit of elastane, or a thin stretch fleece. In all cases, use fabrics that do not fray. For the mittens, you can replace the jersey with a woven fabric like a pretty Liberty cotton.

Fabric 1 (minkee, sweat, etc): 140 cm (58″) wide fabric: 35 cm (3/8 yd).

Fabric 2 (jersey): 140 cm (58″) wide fabric: 35 cm (3/8 yd).

Sizing: Newborn – 4 years. Please check the size chart.

Notions: Hat: jersey strips or 60 cm (24") of braided cord/flat cord/spaghetti cord // Mittens: 60 cm (24") of 0.6-0.8 cm wide elastic; 55-90 cm (22"-36") of braided cord/flat cord/spaghetti cord OR 30 cm (12") of buttonhole elastic + 2 buttons suitable for the buttonholes.
