Buy the Rava Sweater and Jacket sewing pattern from Notches. Rava is a retro design inspired by the brightly coloured tracksuit jackets of the 1980s. Diagonal seamlines on both the front and back come together at the sleeves, creating panels that are ideal for colour blocking. Optional diagonal pockets complement the seamlines. The sleeves are grown on, giving the design its cool fit, and the hems are finished with wide elastic.
Rava can be made as a pull-on sweater or zip-front jacket. Without the sleeves, Rava becomes a boxy bodywarmer or zip-front vest. For the neckline finish, choose between jersey trim, a jersey turtleneck, bomber collar, standing collar or facing. Pieces and instructions for an optional lining are also included.
You can make 28 different garments with the Rava pattern!

Suggested fabrics: Many fabrics are possible. If you use a thick fabric, the designer recommends making the zipper placket and facing in a thinner fabric. For the sweater versions, keep in mind that your head must be able to pass through the neck opening, so the collar should be made of sufficiently stretchy fabric. However you can make the rest of the sweater in a non-stretch woven fabric. Nice results are guaranteed with anything from the jersey category: sweatshirting, french terry, ponte. Thin nylon fabrics will emphasise that cool eighties vibe. Or why not make a collarless wool jacket - sporty chic!
