Buy the Orton Bag sewing pattern from Merchant & Mills. A marvellous oversized tote bag with options to make it with self handles (same fabric as body), webbing handles or leather handles. You can make the bag lined or unlined.

Fabric requirementsNote these are tight lays. Measure your fabric and take care with fabrics with a deep selvedge.

View 1 - Bag with self handles (without nap): 80 cm wide fabric: 1.5 m // 130 cm wide fabric: 0.9 m // 150 cm wide fabric: 0.8 m.

Views 2 and 3 - Bag with webbing or leather handles (without nap): 80 cm wide fabric: 1.45 m // 130 - 150 cm wide fabric: 0.8 m.

Lining (all views, without nap): 80 cm wide fabric: 1 m // 130 - 150 cm wide fabric: 0.5 m.

Sizing: Finished measurements (taken flat): Length 55 cm x Width 62 cm.

Notions: View 2: 3.5 m of webbing // View 3: 1.4 m of 2.2 cm leather strap; rivets.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (10 pages for unlined, 13 pages for lined); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet for unlined, 1 sheet for lined).
