Buy the Perfect Puff Sleeve Top sewing pattern from Matchy Matchy Sewing Club. The Perfect Puff Sleeve Top is designed to have a relaxed and roomy A-line silhouette with a touch of shaping for a lovely fit. This easy to sew pattern includes two views. Both feature a wide style neckline and dropped shoulders with a perfectly dramatic puff sleeve that hits just below the elbow. The length sits just below the natural waist giving the option for a tucked or untucked look. View B has a front button placket for elevated styling.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics.
Fabric requirements: Extra fabric may be needed to match stripes, plaids or directional prints.
44″ (112 cm) wide fabric: View A, 2.25 - 2.75 yd (2 - 2.5 m) // View B, 1.75 - 2.75 yd (1.6 - 2.5 m).
54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: View A, 1.5 - 2.5 yd (1.4 - 2.3 m) // View B, 1.5 - 2.5 yd (1.4 - 2.3 m).
Sizing: XXS – 6XL (approx. UK 6 – 38, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
The Perfect Puff Sleeve Top is drafted for a 5’5″ (165 cm) height.
Notions: 1/2" (1.3 cm) elastic // View B only: fusible interfacing; five 1/2" (1.3 cm) buttons.

Oh how I love this top. I’m so partial to a puffed sleeve. It’s such a quick and easy make. I made no changes to the pattern here, other than to lengthen the hem a little. It’s made in Lamazi Abstract Birds Viscose.

I love this pattern. It’s so versatile and hackable. This is my third, made in Nerida Hansen Cotton Sateen. With this one, I widened and lengthened the sleeves and made the elasticated cuff looser as a style choice. I’m looking forward to trying the button front version next.

I love this top. It’s a quick, enjoyable and easy sew, with sleeves to die for. I love the sleeves so much that I intend to hack them onto other garments! I know I will make many more of these. I will probably lengthen it by an inch or two. Here it’s made in a beautiful cotton gauze from Guthrie Ghani – the Checkered Spot on Blue Reversible Cotton Fabric.
