Buy the Olivia Dress sewing pattern from Made My Wardrobe. The Olivia Dress is a pinafore style wrap dress which can be worn on its own or over a top. We recommend the Amaya Shirt, but a simple t-shirt or turtleneck also looks great. It has lovely deep pockets, an adjustable waist tie and shoulder straps which cross at the back. If you are someone who loves the idea of wearing backless dresses but can’t go braless, the Josie Bra is the perfect match for this dress.

Easy, Super-Flattering Pattern

What a great pattern! I found this very easy to make and the directions very straightforward. I did find that the curved front and back hemlines didn't seem to match exactly in curvature at the side seams, but it is a small detail that doesn't end up mattering. I think the garment hem looks perfect in the end.

I am a 38B-36C bust and made a UK 16, which was a little big in the bust. But it was very easy to alter. I love how this fits - just like the pics. It is super-cute and drapes so well. It is an ingenious design, really. It hides what it should and highlights everything else. Very flattering. I received tons of compliments when I wore it to work. I made mine from an organic cotton barkcloth to have a winter version and thought it might be too heavy a fabric, but I really like how it turned out. I can't wait to make a linen for summer. It is a perfect combo of vintage-y jumper/pinafore and sundress. The crossed straps in back are perfecto too. I'd highly recommend this pattern. I will definitely make more Olivias.
