Note: All Klum House patterns are designed for success on a home sewing machine. You do not need a fancy sewing machine or industrial equipment to make these “domestic machine friendly” patterns.

NOTE: The PDF includes templates for the leather accents only. It does not include pattern pieces for the bag. The bag is constructed from two simple rectangles, and measurements are provided to draw the pieces directly onto your fabric.

Suggested fabrics: 

For the exterior, choose a fabric that will give the bag plenty of structure, such as a 9-12 oz. canvas, waxed canvas, or denim with no stretch. The designer’s favourite exterior fabric is waxed canvas for its structure, durability, and water resistance.

For the lining, use a 10-12 oz. cotton, canvas, or denim with no stretch. The designer’s favourite lining fabric is 10 oz. natural canvas because it provides added structure and its light colour makes it easy to find things in the bag.

All the leather pieces should be 5-7 oz. in weight.

Fabric requirements: 

Exterior: 1/2 yd (0.5 m).

Lining: 1/2 yd (0.5 m).

Leather: 11" x 3/4" leather scrap.

Sizing: Finished dimensions: 9" W x 4" H x 4 1/2" D (23 cm x 10 cm x 11 cm).

Notions: 12" zipper with a large hole in the slide to accommodate a leather zipper pull; four 1/4" or 5/16" double-cap rivets; one 1/4" double-cap rivet. See image gallery for additional tools and supplies.
