Suggested fabrics: Use light to medium-weight knit fabric with good recovery and 50% horizontal stretch, such as jersey, interlock, viscose French terry and double-brushed poly. Do not use fabric with lots of drape.

Fabric requirements: 54″ (135 cm) wide fabric: Short sleeve, 1 1/8 - 1 7/8 yd (100 - 170 cm) // 3/4 sleeve, 1 3/8 - 2 1/8 yd (130 - 190 cm) // Long sleeve, 1 5/8 - 2 1/4 yd (150 - 210 cm).

Sizing: US 00 – 40 with regular and full bust options (approx. UK 6/8 – 34/36, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

A note from the designer about bust options: To determine if you should use the regular bust front pieces or the full bust front pieces, subtract the circumference of your over bust from the circumference of the fullest part of your bust. If the rounded difference is 3″ (7.5 cm) or less, use the regular bust. If the rounded difference is more than 3″ (7.5 cm), use the full bust.

Notions: Lightweight tricot/knit interfacing; 1 yd (1 m) of 3/8" or 1/2" (1 cm or 1.25 cm)-wide straight fusible stay tape (or you may cut your own using lightweight woven fusible interfacing on the straight grain).

PDF pattern includes: Step-by-step illustrated instructions; US letter/A4 print-at-home pattern (34 pages for sizes 00-20, 47 pages for sizes 16-40, but you only need to print the pages for your bust size and sleeve option); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets for sizes 00-20, 4 sheets for sizes 16-40, but you only need to print the 1-2 sheets for your bust size) // Layers: Yes // Projector file: No.

A lovely top!

The Islares is an interesting project to sew and the finished top is really comfy, but the square neckline makes it a bit different from a normal t-shirt.
The instructions are excellent and have a good level of detail. I thought sewing the square neckline might be a bit tricky, but it was actually fine. It's not as simple as a regular round neckline, but the instructions explain everything very clearly and I didn't have any trouble.
The sizing is good - I made the size recommended for my measurements, and it fits nicely. The top isn't tight-fitting, but it has a nice shape to it, and isn't at all baggy.
I've made a couple of versions for me and one for my mum and they've all turned out nicely.
I'd definitely recommend the pattern!
