Buy the Brampton Shorts sewing pattern from Itch to Stitch. The Brampton Shorts are high-waisted, paper-bag-style shorts designed for fluid woven fabric. These pull-on shorts feature an elastic waist, optional belt loops with a detachable sash, optional side seam pockets and optional back pockets. With multiple length options, whether you are hiking on the trail or lunching at a restaurant, these simple-to-sew and comfortable-to-wear shorts have you covered!

Suggested fabrics: 

Primary fabric: Use light to medium weight, fluid woven fabric, such as crepe, viscose/rayon twill or Tencel twill.

Lining (for side seam pockets): Use lightweight woven fabric, such as voile, batiste or lightweight quilting cotton.

Fabric requirements: 

Primary fabric: 54″ (135 cm) wide fabric: Shorts, 1 - 1 7/8 yd (90 - 170 cm) // Belt and sash, 3/8 yd (30 cm).

Lining (for side seam pockets): 54″ (135 cm) wide fabric: 3/8 yd (30 cm).

Sizing: US 00 – 40 (approx. UK 6 – 34, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Lightweight fusible woven or weft insertion interfacing; 1 1/2" (4 cm) wide elastic as long as your waist, plus 2" (5 cm); 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" (4 cm x 4 cm) piece of lightweight, non-stretch woven fabric; small safety pin // Side seam pocket option: 24" (61 cm) of 3/8" (1 cm)-wide straight fusible stay tape (or cut your own using lightweight interfacing).
