Very versatile playsuit or dress

It must be true love when you make 2 of the same pattern back to back, having never made it before. That's what happened between the Sanibel and me. I made the seersucker (light blue) version as a new outfit for our first trip after lockdown. I made the cap sleeve view in a size S, based on my bust measurement and made no alterations. It features an elastic waist, which is the best, but the ties are sewn down so everything stays in place properly. It's a great way to do it. I did find it a little on the short side so, for my next one, the dark green one with long sleeves, I lengthened the shorts by 2 inches. Another thing I did differently was to make standard ties for the waist. I love the elasticated one but I just fancied something different.

I love both of my versions and it's great to know that I'll be able to wear the green one with tights and boots come winter. The pattern also offers a skirt option so it's great value for money as far as how many different views you can make.

The instructions are amazing. I love Hey June patterns and the drafting is excellent. I found it a very enjoyable sew and it doesn't even have any fitting involved. It's a pretty loose silhouette and there aren't even any darts for my size. I believe, however, that there is a bigger cup size on offer and that may well have bust darts to help with shaping.

It's  2 thumbs up from this sewist who had lost all motivation to sew but slowly found it again while making these.
