Buy the Lola Blouse and Dress sewing pattern from Forget-me-not Patterns. Lola is a loose-fitting blouse and dress pattern with a grown-on sleeve and side bust dart. The back features a yoke with an inverted box pleat. The yoke sports the option of a petite ruffle for a little bit of fun!

The silhouette of the dress is slightly A-line, skimming the hips without lots of fullness. The blouse features side splits and a shirt-style rounded hem at the back. For the dress, you can opt for the loose silhouette, or cinch in the waist with the included tie belt. There are two neckline options: a scoop neck or a boat neck. There are also optional in-seam pockets for the dress.

Lola is a low-fuss pattern, with no need for zips or closures! It also includes three different bust sizes so you can get your best fit. This is the perfect pattern for sewing with sheers and lightweight fabrics, with a generously detailed set of instructions for an elegant finish.

Note: You can also add a statement ruffle sleeve to your blouse or dress using the Lola Blouse and Dress Ruffle Sleeve Expansion.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you'll need to download the digital instructions, as we don't print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: The copy shop pattern does not include the pieces for the optional tie belt and pocket, so if you are using these pieces, you will need to print them yourself at home (4 pages).

Suggested fabrics: Lola is designed for lightweight non-stretch wovens with good drape. Suitable fabrics include lightweight chambray, voile, challis, double gauze, and lightweight crepe, through to sheers such as chiffon and georgette. For a dressy version, try silk crepe de chine, satin, or lace. This pattern is suitable for directional prints. For the ruffle view, only use fabrics with an attractive wrong side, as it may show.

Fabric requirements: Allow extra fabric for directional prints or if lengthening the pattern. Smaller sizes and the smaller bust options take up less space, so you will be able to use less fabric if the front and back pieces can fit across one width of fabric.

Dress: 114 cm (44") wide fabric: 2.6 - 2.7 m (2.9 - 3 yd) // 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 2.5 - 2.6 m (2.8 - 2.9 yd).

Blouse: 114 cm (44") wide fabric: 1.7 - 1.9 m (1.9 - 2.1 yd) // 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 1.6 - 1.8 m (1.8 - 2 yd).

Sizing: 28 – 48 (approx. UK 4 – 24, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern comes in three bust sizes. To determine your size, measure your high bust and bust. The bust is measured around the body at the fullest part of the bust. The high bust is measured diagonally up and over the bust (see the diagram in the image gallery).

Use these measurements in conjunction with your known cup size to determine which bust fit to make. If the difference between your high bust and bust is less than 1″ (A to B cup), use Small bust; 1″ to 3″ (B to C cup), use Medium bust; 3″ plus (D cup plus), use Full bust.

Forget-me-not patterns are designed for a height of 5’6″ (168 cm).

Notions: Thread.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (25 pages for each bust size + 4 pages for pocket and tie belt); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet for each bust size). The PDF files are layered so you can print just the size(s) you need.

Great summer blouse

A lovely summer blouse! Really easy sew, just getting back in to sewing and made a couple of these and will be making more next summer. Made the version with boat neck line one with the ruffle and one without. I prefer the ruffle as it adds a little surprise detail to the back.

A Minty Green Lola

The Lola pattern from Forget Me Not Patterns is a simple blouse and dress but it's finished with some gorgeous details. I decided to make the blouse version with the boat neckline and frill along the back yoke. It has little grown on sleeves and is designed to be a looser fit through the waist and hips.

I love that this pattern comes with different bust sizes, (small, medium and large) with all the details on which size to pick in the instructions. I made the size 32 for a small bust (my full bust measurement is 32") and I'm really pleased with the final fit. The back pleat detail means it's very loose around the hips but this is lovely for tucking into trousers or skirts.

The instruction booklet is great and has a lovely section on some technical skills used to make the pattern. I particularly loved learning how to do a pin hem and this finished the garment off beautifully. Especially as I used some Meet Milk diamond print tencel fabric in a lovely mint colour. It has the perfect drape and weight for this top and I'm so pleased I took the plunge and used it for this pattern! Even taking my time with the pin hems and frill this top only took me a couple of hours to make, and I managed to fit this size into 1 metre of fabric too.

I'll definitely be making another one of these, maybe the scoop neck without the back yoke frill in a pretty floral fabric!

Happy sewing,
