Suggested fabrics: Depending on the look you want, Paris can be made in all kinds of woven fabric, with a fluid drape, or something with more structure. For the latter, poplin, jacquard weave or brocade are all good options. Tencel, a linen blend, or even viscose (crepe) or polyester (crepe) work well for the former.

Fabric requirements: 110 cm wide fabric: 180 - 280 cm // 140 cm wide fabric: 145 - 250 cm.

Sizing: EU 32 – 58 / US 0 – 26 / UK 4 – 30 (approx. UK 6 – 26/28, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread; 3 snaps, 0.5 cm diameter.

Completely romantic

I so love everything about this cute romantic Paris top - puffed sleeves, frills, and wrap neckline!

The instructions are pretty straightforward and the sizing is clear. The fabric is a viscose crepe Georgette animal print which is all the rage right now. The neckline and sleeves are bias finished which is a lovely touch. I’ve added a popper to close the neckline as I had a little too much on show - but I think I need to reposition it before I wear the top anywhere outside my sewing room, it’s a little off.    The only change I made was to lengthen the bodice so it sat closer to my natural waist.

I mostly make fitted tops so this being loose and drapey is a change for me and a good change at that. I feel I will make another one as soon as the UK weather eventually warms up.

Great fit, love it!

,I made the Paris Top in Merchant& Mills tencel/linen, as it’s easy to work with and I wanted to try out the pattern before making a version in the lovely drapey  fabric behind me.I made a size 18 with no adjustments and the fit is spot on.
,The only changes I’d make next time would be to have larger seam allowances in some areas to allow for French seams - the finishing on the inside isn’t all that neat.
,I really recommend this pattern - it wasn’t complicated, was relatively quick to sew and makes a really lovely, dramatic top that will suit many people!
