Chalk and Notch Marcel Dress and Tank Top

Buy the Marcel Dress and Tank Top sewing pattern from Chalk and Notch. The Marcel is a woven dress and tank top that is fitted through the high bust and loose through the bust, waist and hips. There are two dress views: View A is midi length and View B is mini length. View C is a tank top that ends at the high hip.

Suggested fabrics: This style is designed for a light to medium weight woven fabric with a nice drape. Rayon challis, rayon crepe, rayon voile, cotton lawn, cotton voile, cotton shirting, linen, double gauze. A minimum fabric width of 54" is required for View A (midi dress).

Fabric requirements: Minimum fabric required is listed. If you think you will need more for shrinkage, directional print, pattern matching or print repeat, please purchase accordingly.

54" (137 cm) wide fabric: View A (midi dress), 3 - 4 yd (2.8 - 3.7 m) // View B (mini dress), 1 3/4 - 2 1/4 yd (1.6 - 2.1 m) // View C (tank top), 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 yd (1.4 - 1.6 m).

Note if purchasing a paper pattern: The fabric requirements for View B (mini dress) were amended after the first print run. Please refer to the quantities above and the back of envelope picture in the image gallery for the updated quantities. 

Sizing: US 0 – 30 (approx. UK 8 – 30, based on our standardised size chart) with A/B and C/D bust cup options. Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 3/4 yd (0.75 m) of 60" (150 cm) wide tricot fusible interfacing OR 2 yd (2 m) of 20" (52 cm) wide tricot fusible interfacing.
