Buy the Vetiver Top sewing pattern from French Navy. The Vetiver Top is a short-sleeved blouse with two hem options. Both styles feature a round neckline, narrow button stand and a bodice that is gently shaped by princess seams. The resulting silhouette is comfortable yet feminine and can be dressed up or down depending on your fabric choice. Style A has a ruffled hem that ends approximately 3 cm (1 1/8″) below the navel and is perfectly paired with high-waisted pants or shorts. Style B is longer in length and has a standard hem that can be tucked in or left out depending on your preference.

Note: A pattern expansion (sold separately) is available for the Vetiver Top. Use the Vetiver Top Pattern Expansion to add long sleeves and/or a Peter Pan collar to your Vetiver Top.

Suggested fabrics: Style A is best suited to lightweight woven fabrics and/or those with some drape such as rayon, voile, lawn or linen blends. Style B will work in all the fabrics already specified as well as in medium weight fabrics without drape such as shirting cotton, chambray, linen and the like.

Fabric requirements: 

150 cm (60″) wide fabric: Style A, 1.3 m (1.4 yd) // Style B, 1.1 m (1.2 yd).

115 cm (45″) wide fabric: Style A, 1.3 m (1.4 yd) // Style B, 1.4 m (1.5 yd).

Sizing: A – H (approx. UK 6 – 16/18, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

The pattern is drafted for a height of 171 cm (5’7″) and a B cup. If you are significantly taller or shorter, you can adjust the pattern using the LENGTHEN/SHORTEN lines on the pattern pieces.
