Ella Top – Liola Patterns

I used a polyester fabric as a type of wearable muslin, and the top turned out better than I ever expected! I love the fit and the shaping is great (especially if you use a soft fabric e.g. rayon instead of a stiff cotton). The instructions were great and no alterations were needed. I was hesitant about the sizing, it seemed to have a lot of ease, but I’m so pleased I just jumped in and trusted the pattern.
I’d peg this as advanced beginner/intermediate. The only tricky bit could be the binding on the edges. Totally recommend this pattern!
I did french seams throughout and only veered from the pattern to enclose the shoulder seams in the back yoke and finish the binding ends slightly differently.
I have an 88cm bust with an ‘athletic’ figure and made a size M.
