Anna Dress – By Hand London

A review of By Hand London Anna Dress

I made my midi-length Anna in cotton voile, with a cotton voile lining. The instructions were super clear and very easy to follow. The pattern came together beautifully. The only alterations I made for fitting were to grade to a 14 at the bust, and then add two centimetres at the shoulder seam to the front and back pattern pieces.

The finished dress looked exactly as I’d hoped! I love the details of the kimono sleeves and bust pleats, I think they give this dress a very unique and pretty look. I wan’t a huge fan of all the taping (I have a pdf copy) but that’s the price we pay for convenience I suppose 😛 I’d rate it at an easy level, as with no sleeves to set in it’s much less complicated.

I’d definitely recommend it to a friend! I made it in a UK8, grading to a UK14 at the bust, and my shape is a slim hourglass.
