I really loved making this dress. It’s a simple dress and it comes together quickly. The cute-effort ratio is very heavily leaning on the cute side for this one. Instructions are excellent and comprehensive enough for a beginner. I made a size 4 but will size up the waist on my next attempt. My shoulders are fairly wide and I’d like a little more room to pull the dress on and off.
The fabric I used is a tencel lawn, which I didn’t even realise was a thing. But a thing it is and a marvellous one at that. It’s quite lightweight and delicate, so it can be shifty but it behaved really well for me all the way through.

5 out of 5 New favourite dress pattern!

I really enjoyed making this dress, it has a facing at the neckline which made it a pleasure to sew. You get the buttons out of the way early on so that takes the stress of those away! It is loose and floaty and of course it has pockets! I thoroughly enjoyed sewing this and love wearing it. It’s so easy to throw on and not look too dressed up but still feel put-together. I highly recommend this pattern to everybody!

I lived in this dress over the summer! I made it from a rayon that I bought in the Backstitch sale years and years ago. The rayon makes for a light and floaty dress that is perfect for hot weather.
The instructions are incredibly thorough and will take a beginner through to a successful garment. I opted to make the dress version with shorter sleeves and waist ties that are set in at the front. This makes for a really easy time of fitting. (I did originally make it with sleeves but they didn’t suit so I replaced them with the cuffs instead). The skirt has an interesting shape and has received lots of positive comments from others.
I made this as part of the #sewmystyle2018 so there’s a very through review on my blog as well as lots of design ideas
