Great pattern that makes a good pair of shorts. The instructions are mostly really easy to follow and understand. The only part I struggled with is the construction of the pockets, when sewing the side seam. I’ve made the shorts three times and it’s always at this point I get stuck. It gets bulky, so I find it easier with lighter fabric than the viscose linen I made one pair in.

    Fern Shorts

I was a pattern tester for the Fern shorts and I found the pattern to be a great addition to my wardrobe and really flattering. I lengthened them by 2cm on the ‘lengthen or shorten here line’ as in general I find shorts can ride up on me and feel really uncomfortable, so this extra length solved that issue. I am quite tall 5’11”. I also made them a size up from my measurements as I prefer a looser fit with shorts. I love the result. They are super comfy and flattering. I made these using a wool and cotton mix fabric from Liberty. I had no trouble with the construction. The instructions were thorough and easy to follow.
