Buy the Alexis Pant sewing pattern from Marsha Style. When cut true to size, Alexis is a mid-rise pant sitting on your low waist/high hip with a slouchy fit and feel through the body. Size down one size, and the pant will fit as a high-waisted, tailored pant. Note a size 0 has been included in this pattern so a size 2 person can size down.

The pant features a fly front with a button or hook and bar closure, side slant pockets, front yoke and feature front side flaps. A self fabric belt with a D-ring slider for adjustment is held in place by belt loops.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces are divided across two A0 sheets. The two sheets will need to be joined with no overlap.

Suggested fabrics: This pant is suitable for mid-weight woven fabrics like linen, cotton, tencel, viscose, rayon, wool or blends of these. The designer recommends not choosing something too heavy so there is a little drape in your pant.

Fabric requirements: 45" (1.15 m) wide fabric: 3.0 - 5.4 yd (2.8 - 5.0 m) // 56" (1.4 m) wide fabric: 2.7 - 3.3 yd (2.6 - 3.0 m).

You can save fabric by cutting the waistband on the cross grain. Also consider the grain of the waistband if you are using a stripe. Less fabric is required if you are not adding the self fabric belt.

Sizing: US 2 – 22 (approx. UK 6 – 26, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

The pattern has been drafted for a height of 170 cm (5'7"). Lengthening and shortening lines can be found on the pattern to adjust according to your height.

Notions: Coordinating thread; one 2 cm (3/4") wide button or two hook and bars; two D-rings; fusing; one 18-20 cm dress or pant zipper depending on the weight of your fabric.

PDF pattern includes: Step-by-step instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (36 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets) // Layers: Yes // Projector file: No.

Refreshingly different pant/trouser pattern

I'm a big fan of Marsha Style patterns and so was very excited when Taree announced a pants pattern. I should state, I was part of the testing team and so got early access. These opinions are my own and are honest.

The first thing that's great about these is the mid rise.. I'm over high waists and so this was refreshing. Add to that the cool detail that's on the front of these and I was instantly taken my them.

Making them was straightforward and so was the fit. I didn't need to make any adjustments to the crotch - this is a first for me! I made a 1" reduction to both the front and back rise, which is a standard adjustment for me, and it was great. I am usually a 16 in Marsha Style patterns - all dresses to this point. For these I made an 18 at the waist and graded to 14 at the hip and leg.

I've written a full review on my blog for anyone who wants to know/see more about my denim version of the Alexis Pants!
