Buy the Men’s Worker Trousers sewing pattern from The Modern Sewing Co. The Modern Sewing Co.’s bestselling pattern is now available in a menswear cut! These are the ultimate everyday trousers and the perfect alternative to jeans all year round. The Worker Trousers are gently fitted at the hip with a slight balloon in the leg for volume and comfort, before tapering towards the ankle.

The construction features a concealed button or zip fly finished with binding, front pockets with facings, patch pockets, and a waistband with belt loops. The combination of fit and construction is tried and tested and designed to be worn into the ground, just like the very best vintage jeans.

Suggested fabrics: Medium/heavy denims, medium/heavy twills, canvas, corduroy/needlecord, wool suiting, sturdy linen (note linen will crease).

Fabric requirements: 

150 cm wide fabric: Sizes XS2 – M, 200 cm // Sizes L – XL3, 230 cm.

110 cm wide fabric: Sizes XS2 – M, 220 cm // Sizes L – XL3, 230 cm.

Sizing: XS2 – XL3. Please check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: A small piece of lightweight cotton for pocket bags; 40 cm of mid-weight iron-on fusing; binding (shop bought, or if you’d like to use the same fabric as for your pockets you’ll need a 70 cm x 150 cm strip of pocketing fabric) // Button fly: four buttons, roughly 2-3 cm diameter // Zip fly: closed-end zip, 13 cm for XS2-XS, 15 cm for S-L, 18 cm for XL-XL3; one button, roughly 2-3 cm diameter.
