Buy the Zahra Swimsuit and Bikini sewing pattern from Sew Over It. Sew beautiful swimwear you can feel confident in with the Zahra Swimsuit and Bikini pattern! The pattern includes different variations, so you can make swimwear that’s perfect for you. Make Zahra as a one-piece or two-piece. Both versions include the option to add foam cups for coverage and elastic under the bust for extra support. If you’re making the bikini, you can also pick between a narrow or wide band to finish the top and bottoms. The instructions will show you how to add strap adjusters to achieve the best fit, as well as guide you through sewing a simplified version with shoulder seams.

Suggested fabrics: 

Main: Light to medium weight swimwear fabrics such as 4-way stretch Lycra or polyamide with 50% crosswise stretch.

Lining: Swimwear lining (ideally 100% nylon).

Sizing: UK 6 – 20 and UK 18 – 30 (approx. UK 6 – 20 and UK 20 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size charts and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is split into two different blocks. The 6 – 20 size range is drafted for a B cup. The 18 – 30 size range is drafted for a D cup.

Notions:

Swimsuit: 8 mm wide rubber swimwear elastic, 4.5 m for sizes 6-20 or 5.5 m for sizes 18-30; set of 20 mm plastic/coated metal strap adjusters (bare metal may rust in chlorine) for Version 1.

Bikini: 8 mm wide rubber swimwear elastic, 4 m for sizes 6-20 or 5 m for sizes 18-30; if you want to add elastic into the bands, 20 mm swimwear elastic, 2 m (sizes 6-20) or 2.5 m (sizes 18-30) for narrow band or 4 m (sizes 6-20) or 5 m (sizes 18-30) for wide band; set of 20 mm plastic/coated metal strap adjusters (bare metal may rust in chlorine) for Version 1.
