Buy the Judy Dress, Top and Skirt sewing pattern from Notches. This versatile pattern combines a unique design with a beautiful fit.

The dress and top both have a V-neck, and wrapping the ties at the waist creates an elegant silhouette. You can make the dress in four different lengths, and for the top you can choose between a cropped version or a slightly longer version. The dress and top both have options for a short grown-on sleeve, half-length sleeve, or long sleeve, so you can wear Judy all year round.

There are no closures to sew. The dress and top can be pulled over your head, and the skirt has an elastic waist. The elastic at the skirt’s waist creates a paper bag effect, and you can choose to add a tie or not. The centre front seam has a slit which is a real eye-catcher, though with the shorter variations you can omit the slit if you prefer.

Suggested fabrics: You can use both woven and knit fabrics. Drapey fabrics are preferred to get a nice wrap effect. Choose thin fabrics for a summer version, or fabrics with a bit more heaviness and warmth for the winter. Avoid thick and stiff fabrics, as they can create bulk when wrapped.

Sizing: EU 34 – 56 (approx. UK 6 – 28, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Fusible interfacing, max. 30 cm; interfacing band, one roll; elastic for the skirt, 25 mm wide, your waist circumference + 2 cm; elastic for the cropped top, 5 mm wide, your waist circumference + 2 cm.
